A Passionate Love Story

This story will explain the passion I have for dogs.
Once upon a time, there was a timid girl who adored animals. As long as I can remember, there was always a faithful companion in my life.
In 1983 I acquired my first Schnauzer. Why the Schnauzer? My daughter is asthmatic. Since I could not have just any breed, I chose the Schnauzer. The beginning of my passion for the Schnauzer.

I attended my first Dog Show in 1988 . I was hooked.. My children were now adolescents.
I decided to get a show dog, Enter Ch. Sir Oliver Debessière. I learned to groom the Schnauzer, and walking and handling the dog, at a show, with the help of Gail King. I obtained his championship and was set for glory.

I went to Pennsylvania to get my second dog, a female, in 1989 and that was the beginning of my champions.
I eventually found myself in the country, with fresh air, and lots of space for my faithful companions.
My passion just kept growing. I took the time to follow a Cyno course, to guide me to learn more about dogs. I try to educate people to UNDERSTAND THEIR DOG AND TO DIRECT THEM IN THE RIGHT WAY.

Presently, I am a breeder. I educate the new owners and offer boarding services. I am a groom and I enjoy spoiling my little friends. Above all, my dogs are well behaved and true companions. My priorities are TEMPERAMENT and COMFORMATION
It is always a pleasure to discuss with people, my passion : the Schnauzer.

Philosophy of the breeder

The first criterion held in my program of breeding is the temperament and I make no compromise as regards my animals of reproduction.
For me, the quality of the temperament is equal in importance to the quality of conformation. My dogs are above all good family dogs.

Criterion of breeder's selection

The purchase of a dog is always a very important decision.
In the first place one should purchase for oneself and not to please the children. It is well known that children, in spite of their beautiful promises, soon grow tired of feeding, of brushing, of collecting the "poo" and all thisgoes back then to the parents who eventually abandon the dog which has become a duty for them.

One should make sure to make the best possible purchase and to do that, please, go to question a recognized breeder. One should make sure to have Good GUARANTEES and all the help of the breeder if necessary. Certain small pieces of advice often have a lot of value.
Pressure is worthless. If the breeder pressures you to choose the animal, please , avoid him. The purchase of your animal is not made on a throw of a dice and a good breeder deserving of his reputation and who loves his dogs will advise you to take your time. because you will be with this dog for many years.

Being a breeder, I can say you that I meet too many unfortunate people unhappy with their purchase. Please, do not hesitate to ask the right questions…

Please, speak to several breeders. Please, ask questions about the care, the health, the temperament of the breed and individual. The breeder should make it his duty to advise you on the choice of the puppy. So during your visit to a good breeder, he will question you about your customs, he will want to know which type of animal is convenient for you, your tastes, your customs of life, as well as your environment. He will be praise his dog, but will not hesitate to tell you of the characteristics which might be a source of problems for you. What is good is that a breeder, fascinated by his profession and by his dogs, will think of the future fate of the dog and yours, before thinking about his bank account..

Do not base your choice on the price of the puppies! The prices vary from one breeder to another. The breeder bases his price on the genetic guarantees, the cost of producing the litter, the follow-up after sale, the titles gained by his dogs in exhibitions, the quality in beauty and in temperament and work.

Please , do not trust "DISCOUNTS"! A dog with a discount is often a dog which the breeder wants toget rid of as fast as possible.
If someone offers you a dog of pure breed, not registered (without papers) please, refuse.
The sale of a dog of pure breed and not registered is illegal in Canada.

The guarantee is in itself very important. It should contain in writing all the relevant information.
It is also important to be able to speak to one`s breeder if necessary, because without being a veterinarian, nonetheless his advice will allow you to save money.
Please, do not forget that an active breeder in competition will have much higher criteria for breeding, so he or she will always offer you a better quality and a better service than anyone else.

His or her reputation depends on it ….
